The Reverend Willie David Crenshaw, Jr. is the pastor of the historic Mount Calvary Baptist Church, one of the oldest African American Churches in Orange County, Virginia.
Born in Greenville, Alabama and raised in Alexandria, Va, Rev. Crenshaw graduated from T.C Williams High School in 1986.
Rev. Crenshaw received a Bachelor of Art Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, Newburg, Indiana. He has also studied at Oxford (England), Wilbur Water School of Divinity, Virginia Union University, University of Richmond and Virginia State University. Pastor Crenshaw is currently pursuing his Masters in Theology.
Pastor Crenshaw’s ministerial career includes serving as Associate Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church, Mclean, VA under the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. Carson E. Wise, Sr. He has also served as a Deacon, Youth Minister and Christian Education Director. Pastor Crenshaw was licensed to preach the gospel on September 28, 1998 and ordained on June 25, 2002.
In addition to his pastoral career, he serves as an instructor at Wilbur Waters School of Divinity, Washington, DC (2009-present) and is the former president of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Northern Virginia and Vicinity. In 2015 Pastor Crenshaw established Greater Spirit Ministries, Inc. a nonprofit that helps youth and churches with programs such as (Retreats, study hall, athletics and financial empowerment)
As the leader of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Orange, Virginia. Pastor Crenshaw has enhanced and started new ministries, he is currently overseeing the construction of our new sanctuary. Under his leadership Mount Calvary is recognized as a United States Historical Landmark.
Pastor Crenshaw sincerely loves to teach and preach the word of God. He believes by equipping the Saints for service and uniting the children of God together in love. God’s people can truly live out the purpose of their lives. But he is also a devoted and caring husband, father to his family and minister to the flock at Mount Calvary Church, counseling them in times of trouble and rejoicing with them in times of jubilation. He is a true servant of God, willing to follow the Master’s voice whenever and wherever he is called.
Rev. Crenshaw is married to the former Malaika S. Gamble of Herndon, Virginia. They have four children Tylis, Kiara, Domonique and Elijah and one grandson (Mason).
